INITIAL CONSULTATION

Here is where the fun starts!

We meet at your home to have an chat about the current site and conditions, what you do and don’t like about it, what you dream of being able to do within the space. This can be a well thought out researched idea, or a simple feeling you’d like to achieve. Sometimes it’s as simple as knowing the current layout isn’t working for you and your family.

Together we take a walk around the site, viewing it from important sight lines that you use a lot, investigating problem areas, and generally getting a feel for the site. I will ask a series of questions during the consultation to get to know a bit more about the site and your family, how light changes during seasons, or any privacy issues etc. If you don’t know the answers it is not a problem at all!

We may at this point also make some loose suggestions for initial design moves (just ideas to get the ball rolling).

From here, the team head back to the office to write an outline of what we have garnered from the initial site visit and construct a design brief to quote the concept design from.

Initial Consultation fee is $150 ex. GST (travel fees apply outside of central Christchurch). Time allowance of approx. 1 hour

SITE BRIEF + CONCEPT QUOTE

Via email, you will receive a ‘reverse brief’ (aim of the concept plan as discussed at initial site visit) and a concept design quote.  Please read over this carefully. Feel free to send through questions or comments or additional elements to the design brief at this point. The quote can be adjusted so that we are all on the same page moving into the concept design phase.

At this stage I will also outline any other cost that may be relevant to your project. This may include; getting a survey, building and/or resource consent, subcontractors (drainage, electrical etc).

CONCEPT PLAN

Once we have conducted any additional site investigations or measurements, we move onto preparing the concept plan for your property, or area specified in brief.

The concept plan shows you how the spaces are laid out, hard landscapes, planting zones and existing features (like your house).

At the presentation we go through every area in detail. Showing you material options and vibe images to enable you to get an in depth feel for the design.

From here we make tweaks and changes to ensure the plan meets your needs.

At this point your plan can be used to quote from, while we get into the nitty gritty of the plant placement.

Concept Plan fees depend on a wide variety of variables; size of property or design area, complexity of site and its condition, as well as features outlined in brief.

PLANTING PLAN

So the Concept is finalised, now we add in the beautiful flora that will bring life to your garden.

The planting plan shows, diagrammatically, the placement of all plants, planting spacing with additional documentation to outline mature size, and bloom information.

Planting Plan fees are included in Concept Plan package. They can also be done on their own if for instance your hard landscaping doesn’t need any work.

BUILD CONSULTATIONS

Theres nothing like the feeling of continuity through the building process.  It ensures that the design you ok-ed at the planning stage is in fact the one that gets built. AND to the the standard you expect.

Rachael can offer a consultation role as your design moves from paper to real life. She can assist with finding the perfect builders, subcontractors and product procurement, including final touches like furniture and pots.

Build Consultation fees depend on size and complexity of project.

COMPREHENSIVE CONSULTATION

Not quite sure how to tackle your garden? Or where to start?

Need assistance to give your garden a refresh, without going overboard?

No fear - lets start with an in depth Consultation. Similar to the initial consultation, we talk and walk around your property, seeing what works and what doesn’t for you.

The difference being, post the site visit i send you consultation notes, outlining any suggestions I may have made, planting recommendations, hard landscaping options to have a think about, and any other details that you may want to consider.

If later you find that you’d like to progress to a Concept Plan - no problem. Get back in touch and  we can move down that route as well.
